This is Tim Thompson's virtual performance of the music and how he meant for it to sound.
Neoclassical composer Tim Thompson was invited
in 2005 by Frog Music Press to compose this lively 5 minute Prelude especially
for organists who play Rodgers® Digital
Organs with the Rodgers® PR300
or MX200 MIDI module.
These organs are able to play MIDI files
while the organist plays the organ keys. If the MIDI file has an orchestral
arrangement, it is possible to play the organ in concert with a virtual
orchestra.
History:
Frog Music
Press comissioned this work from Tim Thompson in 2005. They sold a package containing sheet music and
MIDI file data for this composition, and then removed it from their catalog for no given reason. As of 2011, the music can no longer be found on their site. Thus we do not provide links to them.
NOTE: We are NOT responsible for the Frog Music Press Web site, how it works, or what they post or do with our music. They are a publisher who comissioned the work from us and then dropped it. We do not have any other affiliation with them.
This extremely unique festive music performance
score was composed for for liturgical or secular use, with lively
string, percussion and brass orchestration.
The way it works is simple,
the organist plays the organ part from a musical score while the MIDI
module in the Rogers organ plays the orchestral part from the MIDI file.
