Dream
Angels Essence

This
is the true story of how the musical theme "Dream Angels" which
you can hear in the CREATORS section of this Web site.
When Felista and I conceived the Dream Angel Oracle, we wanted to create
a program that would totally embody the essence of Spirit in the most magical
and loving way. The power of Spirit is the most profound experience we can
ever know, and it is so tied to dreams, imagination, and wonder that it blossoms
into sheer joy every day. This is the message of the Dream Angel Oracle,
that we are never alone, that we are held and loved in Spirit every moment
of our lives, that our Angels are always with us, loving us, holding us,
walking with us every step of the way. We are One.
As the program
developer, I wanted to make an interactive program where anyone could converse
with their own Dream Angels through the power of the computer. I called on
every inspiration I knew to make the Dream Angle Oracle as close to Spirit
as a computer program could be, to honor Felista's beautiful artwork and
the wonderful messages from the Angels themselves. That inspiration flowed
like a river, even to the music of the program itself-- the theme: "Dream
Angels". The story of that music exemplifies the magic and wonder of
the Dream Angel Oracle and how it happened is amazing.
Part of my job on the Dream Angel Oracle project was to manage and compose
the music.
We had gotten
the program very well advanced and functioning, the Dream Angels were all
there, talking to us, teaching us, working their magic – but
in silence. In my heart, I wanted to create a musical theme that totally
exemplified them. Felista never had any doubt that I would accomplish this.
I wasn't so sure.
A few days later, I was still struggling with my doubts. It suddenly dawned
on me (inspiration is like that) to actually ASK the Dream Angels themselves
to help me compose their theme music. So I launched the program, and my very
favorite Dream Angel appeared. I asked him for help with composing their
theme. He replied:
"Creative
energy, the substance of ideas, is ever flowing into perfect manifestation.
You, the Dream Builder, are loved and supported by your spirit and the Universe.
When you open to receive, things naturally happen."
I thought, "That was an interesting response—I wonder what
it means?" and sat quietly for a moment. Nothing happened. Then, for
the oddest reason, I felt a need to wash some dishes.
I was thinking of the musical dilemma-- my desire to compose the theme,
my very empty mind-- when the most urgent compulsive musical feeling suddenly
flooded my every thought. It was demandingly urgent. All the music was suddenly
in my mind at once!
I
rushed to the musical computer and fired it up, urgently pacing and saying, "Hurry
up, come on, I can't wait!"
Finally, the software was running and I pounced on the keyboard, pouring
in the notes as fast as I could. They flowed like water. My hands seemed
to blur, everything seemed to blur in a musical whirlwind of instantaneous
spontaneous composition. I've never had such an experience before; it was
amazingly intense, yet wonderfully delightful. I don't exactly remember what
happened after that, it was so fast. I remember going through the motions,
managing the mechanics.
I heard thoughts,
silent words of suggestion: "Pizzicato here, now
ease it back and bring in the bells. That's right. Now full orchestra. A
bit more in the basses and cellos. Good, okay, fade it back a bit here and
bring in the horns-- gently now, ease them in, let them glide. There you
go." It was like taking dictation! A spiritual conductor was lovingly
guiding me note by note, measure by measure. My mind was working the machines
while my spirit was soaring in another world. It was as if I had stepped
out of time and space. When I came to my senses, the computer screen displayed:
Dream Angels is Saved
I
looked at my watch. A few hours had passed yet I had no recollection of the
time! Yet, in that time, I had composed, orchestrated, arranged, and mixed
the entire Dream Angel theme. I played it back and heard it with new ears,
not the ears of a composer-- the ears of an audience. A chill ran down my
spine. It was good, very good. And I realized, it came from beyond and I
had been privileged to bring it into this world.
A few days
later, Felista arrived for a production meeting. I was grinning ear to ear.
I said, "You've GOT to hear this!" and
fired up the XV Orchestra and played the theme. Her eyes sparkled, she laughed
and clapped:
"That's
THEM. You have them in the music! It IS the Dream Angels, their playfulness,
their joy, their spirit! Play it again, Tim."
I played it
again and she laughed and almost cried. "That is SO the
spirit of the Dream Angels! How did you come up with it?"
"I asked
THEM."
We both laughed.
Now here is the most interesting thing about this theme.
It doesn't start the program!
Felista
and I talked to the Dream Angels about the music (there are several musical
backgrounds that play throughout the program) and it "came to us" that
the theme "Dream
Angels"-- in fact all the music-- must be given to the Dream Angels
themselves to play for people who are talking to them when they know the
time is right. So at times, you may hear it right away, or when you switch
from 1-Angel conversation to 5-Angel conversation, or it might not play
at all this time -- yet the next time you start the program, it comes up
again and again.
You never know, only the Dream Angels do, because they decide when it
is the right time for their Spirit to be revealed through their lovely theme.
You see, that's exactly how the Dream Angels work. You ask, they give
-- in ways you cannot possibly imagine. Such are the riches of the Spirit.
Such is the magic of the Dream Angel Oracle.
