Lady Gertrude Dainty Paws Wake Up Class!

You'll learn about Cat Brains in this seminar module. Our brains are very much like yours and we share much in common. Of course, you humans like to think you are smarter than cats-- and in many ways, you are. But we cats are no dummies. The term "dumb animal" doesn't mean stupid, it means unable to use human speech. Your FDA will show you just how intelligent we cats really are! Your FDA (Feline Digital Analyzer) is below and Eddie Cat will explain how to use it.

I think there may be a quiz on this coming up. It depends on my nap time (yawn).

Extra Credit Tips:

  1. Cats can solve puzzles, as long as they think the solution will get them something. Opening a cupboard door is a common puzzle that many cats solve.

  2. Cats know how to manipulate humans. They will act out behaviors that will get them attention.

  3. Cats are notoriously curious. This is a sign of their intelligence. They learn from experience.

  4. A cat can suffer from lonliness, grief and boredom. A bored cat may drive you crazy for something to play with.

  5. Cats change their personality over time. An aloof cat today may become a lap cat tomorrow, or a year from now.

  6. Cats follow heirarchy. In a group (called a colony) of cats, one cat will dominate. But unlike herd animals, they will not follow a leader. They will submit to one, i.e. allowing the dominant one to take food away from them, etc.

  7. Cats have great patience and will wait by a mouse hole for hours if necessary.

  8. Cats are not psychic, but their senses tell them things humans often miss.
