"Mille Regretz" by Josquin Des Pres

Omnia Vincit Clyde
Like meteors they blazed
Across the sky --
Then fell,
Leaving us
Shattered, asking why.Mozart, Chopin, Schubert
Shelley, Keats,
Gershwin, Joplin, Hendrix --
Life repeats
Its darkest patterns thus,
And so our light,
Our Clyde,
Was torn from us.Yet, in our grief, we know
He is not gone:
His music, love, and
Joy of life
Live on.Sublimely gifted,
Taken in his prime,
His genius,
Timeless,
Mocks the theft
Of Time.
Ariel

Clyde was not only my Master of the Queen's Mewsic, he was also a very dear friend, so it is with heavy heart that I attend this ceremony today. His wondrous mewsic, his delightful tales and games, and most of all his matchless purrsonality, brought joy to the hearts of all who knew him. His untimely passing has taken back some of that joy, leaving us with an emptiness that cannot be filled. Goodbye, dear, sweet Clyde, rest well until we meet again beyond the Bridge.

My special tribute to Clyde can be viewed at: http://www.geocities.com/~bitsycat/clydetribute.html

Clyde was a nice cat and very talented at that. I didn't know him very well but I saw him all over CLAW and all over the internet.
When his sickness accured and his human started keeping track of the days on his webpage I read along and felt everything that his human and himself felt. When we lost Clyde's talent and gratitude, friendliness and love we lost something so great I can't explain it in words.
I think it's great that Clyde's human still keeps Clyde's pictures and stories on the internet because when I and everyone else heard Clyde's story it took up a little space in our hearts for Clyde Big Paws Feline Unit.

My fellow CLAW members and dear Feline friends,
I am honored to say a few words in the memory of our dear departed friend Clyde Big Paws, who will be so missed by us all. I can still hear his wonderful mewsic echoing through my mind as I speak. He always was able to bring a purr deep in my chest with it.
It is always sad when a dear friend passes on, but even more tragic is the loss of one so young and in his prime. This hurts us all the more, and his poor human I'm sure is torn up with grief and shock. I for one was stunned when I read the news, having just the day before enjoyed his incredible concert at the CLAW Theatre. I'm glad at least he saw my court and I give our standing ovation from the private Royal box. I only wish he had lived to honor me further by becoming my official Royal Composer. So many of his works now will never be finished, and we all will be far poorer as a result.
Let us all purr to ourselves quietly for a minute while we think back on Clyde, and all the wonderful memories he has left us. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Thank you. Sniff. Please, someone take over. I can't go on.....................
Claudie
