ClydeSight2.0!presents...
A memorial service originally posted at the CLAW Theater in honor of Clyde.
Clyde was a very special friend. We shared so many laughs and "cyber" adventures. Whenever I hear an outrageous pun or a wild take off on a historical event I will know that somehow Clyde's big paw was involved.
Goodnight Sweet Prince.
Your Paw Pal Leo

I knew there was something furry bad happening when I saw my Meowmie sitting in front of the computer in tears. I climbed over her shoulder to see what was the matter, she just held me and told me that Clyde went across the Rainbow Bridge. I was so sure he was going to get better.
I immediately asked my Meowmie to put something on my page, which she did. Clyde was such a talented kitty, we used to go to his page a lot. We will still do that, he will neffur be furrgotten in this house and he will always be on my page.
I miss my brother tabby.

I never knew Clyde Big Paws. This is the truth. So why am I speaking at his memorial service? Because I've been touched by his spirit, and I know first hand how he moved the entire Internet kat community. Any kat that could inspire another kat to launch a campaign to uplift his spirit during the struggle to save his life, without any contact what so ever, must truly be special.Clyde was extraordinary. Virtual concerts, time travel, interactive web sites, and the philosophic approach to science presented no challenge to Clyde. His unbounded creativity and his bottomless well of wisdom attracted many visitors to his web page not only to return, but to become devoted followers. Even his "big paws" were extraordinary!
I knew nothing of this extraordinary kat, however, until I received an email telling about Clyde's medical condition from my future winkwink Tiger Fangs. Of course, everyone has heard the name Clyde Big Paws. I knew he was a well known kat, and that he had provided us with the MIDI Clyde Tunes. But who was he? I decided to visit his site. I read the urgent announcement. By that time I had talked over ICQ with Tiger Fangs and Pepsie Cola. Pepsie was really shook up, shocked, even. I decided that I would do something for this kat I had never meowed to. But what?
The last time I felt so moved to do something for a fellow kat was after the Noah's Ark Shelter massacre. There are many images that people have created for people to put on their web pages and link to pages with information on how people could help. I decided to do this, draw a kat with a candle and make a short page telling about Clyde and linking to his site. A kat with a candle, though? So sad, so somber. We were trying to send good thoughts to Clyde, not set up a memorial shrine before he had even gone to the Rainbow Bridge. So I started the Flower for Clyde campaign.

All through his illness, the growing support for Clyde was evident.
I read the Acme Pet Cat Bulletin Board with my meowmie every evening, and there were
always updates on his condition. Letters to Clyde's Human Unit were pouring in, and
notices about Clyde were popping up like wild katnip on kat web pages all over the
Internet.
Clyde proved that good things do happen on the Internet, that love can be transmitted from one computer screen to another, and that one kat can make a difference. The extraordinary thing about this is that he did it without laying a paw to a keyboard once during his illness.
I hope that Clyde will always live on in our hearts and our web pages. The Flower for Clyde campaign will be a permanent memorial to his great life and his big paws.
