The Cats Site of the Week honors one cat site each week for excellence in web site design, format and content. Much like sites which have received the Best of the Net awards, Cats Sites of the Week simply leap off the screen and demand to be explored. They are really in-your-face web sites, and as such, deserve special recognition. This week's honored site is just that.
ClydeSight2.0!, starring Gert and Eddie, is a spinoff of the original ClydeSight2.0!, starring the memorable Clyde Big Paws, of mewsical fame and beloved performer at CLAW. When Clyde passed on to the Rainbow Bridge in 1997, he left behind a legacy of talent, and his two heirs, Gert and Eddie, after some competition, decided to band together to share the burden of filling Clyde's big pawprints. If you've been around the Net long enough, you'll already know that Clyde left a large hole behind when he departed.
But, never fear, although ClydeSight2.0! purports to be a memorial to Clyde Big Paws, it is not a weepy, sad memorial, but really a celebration of Clyde's life and his talents. It is described as a "fun and games" site, and it is that and more, a tribute not only to Clyde, but innately to the talents of C.H.U. (Clyde's Human Unit), who modestly defers to the kitties at all times. Gert, also known as "Lady Gertrude Dainty Paws" has inherited from Clyde Big Paws plenty of mewsical talent of her own, as demonstrated by her composition honoring the startling new Birth of Dreams digital art of Eddie. Both are hauntingly beautiful and I would be hard-pressed to say which fills me with more pleasure. Sir Edward Pussycat, as Eddie is sometimes called, offers his painting free for download to use as a Windows wallpaper.
Gert and Eddie do some silly stuff on their own, such as Synchronized Sleeping, and their Bathtub Game, but they are also involved in some pretty serious stuff with their training for NASA. Richly deserved, I'd say.
I'd be neglectful if I didn't encourage you to thoroughly explore Clyde Big Paws' original Site. This page has an index that will point the way for your happy explorations. Like the previous Sites of the Week, I'm confident you will also want to bookmark these pages.
