Days of Clyde's Lives

Thanks, Clyde Fans,
Your Support is Reaching Clyde!
7/31/97

Day Two-- The Clyde Saga, Improvement!

The outpouring of love and support from all of you has been wonderful! And, it is working! Thanks to you, Clyde is beginning the long, slow climb to health.

I, the inept human, called the Vet this morning to check on Clyde's condition. The Vet said that he was showing signs of recovery, and had even eaten a little food! Although his blood still contains toxins, the level has come down somewhat.

I visited Clyde this evening after work. (Gotta work, how else am I gonna pay for this!) He was in a steel box in a high traffic area, and they had put down a soft pad for him to lie on. They said they were keeping him there so he could have the stimulus of watching all the activity during the day and wouldn't be bored.

He had food and water, but, admittedly, not a lot of room to move around. The Vet had to do this because Clyde has an intravenous tube, from a machine outside the box, in his right arm that is forcing fluids into him. He doesn't like it much, of course. (Who can blame him?)

I brought Clyde his favorite kitty pad (a canvas pad that once was filled with catnip) and his golden star toy which has some ribbons and a little bell. He sniffed them and recognized them, and then, he started to purr!

I looked into his eyes, and they had greatly improved. Whereas before, they were cloudy looking, tonight they were much clearer and brighter. Clyde kissed me several times and I whispered into his ear tales of all the wonderful letters you have sent him. I told him that all of you on the Internet are rooting for him, sending him lots of love and care. He kissed me again when he heard that, and I send his kiss to you as his thanks. Then, he ate some food so I could see that he is getting better.

So, things are improved tonight. But, we are not out of the woods yet, or, should I say, not out of that steel box! But, the Vet said that if Clyde continues to improve at this rate, he can come home on Saturday night!

So, we need to keep up the good work, and continue sending our love and support. I am sure that what you have done for him has helped so much, and I am so grateful to you! Thanks so very, very much.

And, your letters are so beautiful, I would like to post them on the site so everyone who comes here can see what a powerful community we are. Of course, I'll leave your names off (for security) unless you ask otherwise. Just let me know.

Thanks so much!
Our love for Clyde is working. Let's keep it up and keep thinking of Clyde as healthy and happy once more! Just look into his eyes on his home page and think happy thoughts. (or, will that make him able to fly? I get so confused!)
